london
There have been a slow down in property sales in Spain, and this male couple owners of a resort there have put up their property for sale via a lottery.
Tickets costs 25euros each , with a free ticket if u buy 4. the price of the tickets can be redeemed for stays at the resort before 1May 2009.
Its near where keith lives in torrevieja and where i was on holiday only recently.
Whoever wins it may find themselves saddled with running a holiday resort in the mountains which is not a place people go to in spain, because it is the coast that is popular. Keith says it is hot in the mountains in summer, which seems counterintuitive because we all have been to mountains and they are cooler. Perhaps keith is mistaken.
At first glance, it sounds like a fantastic dream to win this property. But the maintainance will be expensive.
Owning property can be a headache. I think those two who owns that property and spent all those years renovating it has come to realise it. However, i hope there are plenty of others who would want to own such a property, and buy the tickets so the present owners can achieve the price they want for it. As for me, it is not for me. I dont want the bother of owning property and having to earn the money to keep it going. Imagine having to stay there looking after guests!!! Trade it for my life now where I am free to do what i like and be a free person? No thanks. l am happy with my flat, where the maintainance is low, and I can travel all over the world easily as there are so many airlines flying from london and there is good budget choices. The freedom I have now... which is freedom from want and freedom to do whatever i like is so precious, it cannot be bought.

different pattern of living
london
When i am in my flat in london I find i wake up very early. yet when John and I were staying with Keith in his flat in Torrevieja, Spain, we tend to sleep early and wake up late, from 11pm to 9am. I love it because it is so nice to be able to sleep so long. We have wondered why we were sleeping late, and John said because there was nothing to do and we did not want to make a noise by chatting. (keith in a chance remark on the yacht when he joined us on our Ibiza holiday said that he would not want to be disturbed by us clattering about and making a noise so early in the morning when we stay at his flat).
John and I have been getting up early when we were on board the yacht. So, mindful of not disturbing keith, I have decided to continue sleeping. There was no broadband at his flat so i could not get online and keep busy reading the news online or writing on my blog. John still wakes earlier than me, but not at his usual time when he is in his flat. When we are at our flats, we are both early risers, getting active around 6am.I dont have to worry about waking anyone when i m in my flat, because the sound proofing between the lounge and my bedroom is good, so even if simon is asleep in the bedroom, any radio noises wont wake him. This morning,I can make as much noise as i like because he is at his mum's house. The flat is not sound proof for noise outside. If our neighbours are talking in the courtyard outside, we can hear it. It is one of the strange quirkiness of this flat.
It looks like what prompts us to wake up is when we have things to like to do and not whether we are sleepy or not. I can understand people in a depressive state not wanting to wake up because to them there is nothing they want to wake up for. I wonder whether when we were in spain, i was in something akin to a slightly depressive state. I dont think i was depressive, but the situation was like being in one. There was nothing to do, or read, or because of the need to keep quiet in the morning, even a chance to chat with john. Being a guest in someone else's flat is restrictive. I dont feel that when i m at john's flat, because he lets me do what i like. Though I can see even there my presence is disruptive in that john still have to make the meals etc.
I think on the whole, it is best not to stay too long, about 3days if the friends' place is near, and about 10days if it is in another country. I think very few friends will be able to take another presence for more than 2wks.
I used to think that if ever i m homeless, i can visit friends and stay with them, but i think that is not going to work. No one will like it to have a permanent guest. Nothing like having ur own place where u can do whatever u like at whatever hour.
It is funny how different places and circumstances can change our habits.

lovely to be back in london
london
Its been 14days since i was away, and i miss london. I miss the tv programs, especially the BBC tv, I miss the broadsheet newspapers, esp the telegraph and times. I miss my library, and the books i can borrow. I miss being able to speak english to everyone in london and be understood. I miss my home cooking and my flat. I miss the weather, even when simon tells me it was freezing in london while we were away but i wont mind that at all. I have found out I can take sunny weather or not, it is not really that important for my happiness.
It's been a nice holiday, but i would not want to live in spain.
The lack of spanish is a big disadvantage. It is really frustrating to live in a country and not be able to communicate easily with the locals there.
The sunshine in spain is the only good plus. Also having a good nudist beach which is near and easy to reach; and which is very cruisy full of uninhibited sexual activity is a nice bonus, but I realise it is not crucial for my happiness. There is as much fun to be had with men in london as in that beach.
And that is all the positives to be said for spain.
The rest is negatives. haha. It is tempting to list them, but I shall not do so as it would not serve any purpose. Suffice to say it is a nice place to go for a holiday of less than 2wks and that is it.

benidorm
torrevieja.
Back in keith´s flat in torrevieja now. We stayed in the hotel babylorn in the old town in benidorm. Went to jj barwhich has a dark room and opens at 8pm. We thought it would be nice, likethe dark room in London. But it was not so. There was a porn video showingold men having sex, it is obviously a specialist interest. ANd the wallswere adorned with pictures of old men. I thought that night was a special theme night, oldies night for those interested in them. I like a mix of ages, rather than exclusively one age group. But i realise i ws mistaken to think it is a special night´s theme, because the next day on our first full day there, when wewalked out to the beach, we saw hordes of old people men and women streaming to the beach, and filling it up, and I thought we were in a science fiction movie where all the young were killed by a deadly virus, leaving only old people. There were people truddling around in motorised wheel chairs. I saw the car parking places with wheel chair signs on them, and i at first thought they were places to park the wheel chairs, until I realise it is not possible as those in wheel chairs cannot get out of them . haha.
The beaches have wooden walkways laid across the sand to the waters edge, and all these elederly folks were using it, filing down it religiously, even though there are miles of sand that they can walk on. It is as if they think the sand is quicksand and that if they walk off the board walk, they will sink to their eyes. haha.
This is the only town we have been where the elderly predominates. Torrevieja would
be a close contender for the second town of old people. Except there it will be mainly
english people, whilst here, it seems to be spanish people. The spanish restaurants in the old town were packed with eaters, unlike the english pubs offering the English menus. I would love to eat at these local places, but my spanish is not good enough to even read the menu. I know i miss out there.
I guess the restaurant and cafe owners must be used to dealing with difficult customers. To me it appears the customer is just being difficult, but maybe to a cafe waiter, it is all part of the service. My friend, keith, ordered a chocholate drink. When it came in a bottle, he saw it was straight from the fridge and was cold, and asked them to heat it up. So the young man poured it into a glass and bubbled hot air through it using his coffee machine. At this point, I left them and strolled out to the beach nearby to wait for them to finish the meal, as i was not hungry. When i got back Keith told me what happened. The chocolate was too hot. He told the chap who made it that he could not possibly drink it, he would burn himself, and he asked them to cool it. I said to keith, pity the poor guy, he must have thought it was a hard way to earn 2euros. What a way to earn a living with people complaining it is too cold and then when u heat it up complaining it was too hot. haha. The chap did not seem to mind. Maybe they are used to dealing with old people who expect their food to come all cut up for them. haha. I heard from keith that the old people in north spain, where it is snowing, can get free holidays. it was a custom started by Franco, the dictator, who thought it will give old people a holiday and also fill up the holiday towns in southernspain during the off peak period in winter and keep jobs going.
We took the car to quadalest, a hill town. Very pretty, and a nice change from the seaside scenery. it has been made touristic, as there used to be people livingin the hill, under the fort. But now all their houses have been converted to shopsand restaurants. There was a museum there showing their way of life, housed in one of the houses, and it was great to go in to see what these houses were like tolive in. They were surprisingly bright and spacious.
We had another attempt at going to a bar with dark rooms in torrevieja, but it was such a dismal experience that john and i are put off going to these places, so when we were in benidorm, and was told the gay bars in the old town open at midnight, and got busy only at 2am, we said forget it and went to the local sauna instead. And wehad a lovely time. i got involved right off with one guy and stayed with him havingfun in a cubicle. John says he got what he wanted too. the guys were all up for it so unlike those in the bars. The next day, when we had checked out, we went to visit altea,a town that is on a hill and we had a nice view of the sea from the village square there. I took a pack lunch.... it was left over from the half roast chicken i bought in benidorm, and could notfinish. I ate the left over chicken breast with a baguette i bought that morning, whilstthe others had coffee in the touristy cafes. the funny thing was i sat on the shaded seats and was able to enjoy the view whilst they were in the middle of the square withno views. Later we went into the village church. A very nice roman catholic church with walls paintedin marble. Very nice it looks, and real marble tables on every alter niche.
We then went to another sauna, splash sauna. Had to wait till the parents left with their kids, as the school was just closing, and they were hogging the parking spaces round theschool. The sauna was very quiet, hardly any people, it was 5pm. But i v quickly got pickedup the the only young guy there, and we spent the rest of the time in a cubicle. Later, i found out from him, that he had actually seen me in the previous sauna yesterday. He said everyone there calls me the smiling boy. WEll, i never knew i was so noticeable.
In all the time during our stay, i did not see many chinese guys. They were only seen in restaurants and manning the hardware stores. So i guess i was unusual.

2nd sunny day here
torrevieja
Another sunny day today. so it looks like the good weather is here to stay. We went to the nudist beach again. We went yesterday and it looks like thatis the general pattern of life here. It is nice on holiday, but i think i shall get bored with it if i have to doit all the time. This time we took a packed lunch of salad. And we went about 12pm and left about 5pm. I thought it will be a quiet time for me, seeing yesterday i had my sex, and came. However, i was dozing off, when i was suddenly awakened by someone touchingmy cock. I opened my eyes and saw this stranger fondling me. Haha. Most people dont disturb u when u r sleeping, or have your eyes closed, but thisplace is different. or spanish people are more forward. Or more likely thisparticular guy is v forward. Certainly he came back a number of times, and touched up keith and john. Well, u cannot fault him for trying, and i daresay as the day goes late, he will get lucky when guys who have been trollingall day and could not find anyone, will let him get them off. I think the guys who go for it tend to get their sex. after all, wasnt theresomeone who told me once that even if he gets 1 out of 10 attempts that is1 person he will have sex with. Unlike the others who dont even try at all. There was on guy john was talking to when i returned to where we have set up our things, and it turned out this guy is british, having lived here 4yrs.He earns a living doing massage, but says recently he has not much business. And is thinking of finding work in uk. That may well be the same story from now on, for any person who has been coming here
to work.
Tomorrow we go to benidorm, to stay for 2 nights wed, and thurs, returning on friday.

sunday in alicante, and monday on the nudist beach
torrevieja
The sun has come out yesterday, which was the first time since we arrived. It had been raining buckets eversince we arrived on tuesday, and it has been 6days of rain. But it looks like it will be sunny and warm from now on. On sunday, we went to alicante, to see the volvo sailing exhibition. It is free to enter. That is something i like about spain, most things are free. There was a huge crowd of spaniards, a good mix of ages, young and old and in between.I was surprised at how small and low in the water are these sailing ships. They start from alicante, on 4oct and sail round the world to end up in St Petersburg,Russia in july 09. There are 11 crew members, and it seems they have liquid foods only to save weight, and it seems they can all loseas much as 25lbs after the race of 9months. I would not know why people do these things, haha. but obviously there must be many of them who like itor they wont do it would they?It is wonderful that there are people who like doing these weird things. Itmakes the world so much more interesting. Then we walked up the hill to the fort and saw the panoramic view of the city. The walk up was lovely, we took the steeper route, and later found out thatthere is a car park near the top and two escalators but I think i still prefer the route we took. And it is all free to enter. It is highly recommended.
On monday, the sun came out bright and sunny, and we went to the nudist beach. What a glorious difference between this day and the last, when it was raining. However, the others did not find any one to play with, or so they tell me. I was fortunate in that someone found me. haha. I really like his technic. I saw him and he was making it obvious he likes meby standing a little way off and lookng. There were a few others cruising me as well, but they walked off. I walked away from him, and was pausing to admire the beach, when suddenly i seehim to the side, and he walked ahead and came in front where i was standing. That is v good strategy. He had come on a different route and reached aheadof me. I thought that was very cleverly done. And then, instead of juststanding there, he came towards me and approached near me so he brushed past meand touched me, and then instead of walking off, he stood behind me and played with my nipples. Wow, I though that was very well done, very subtle, and persuasive. I must remember to do that if i m interested in someone. He is a master at this.Anyway , we had a great time.Later, he tells me he is dutch, and lives in alicante, used to live in torrevieja for 2yrs but did not like it because there were too many british here.He mentioned some bars, missing, and deep in alicante that were v nice, even one that has underwear night on sunday and we parted with a suggestion that we meet in one of the bars there on friday.´When i mentioned the bars to our friend keith, he said he did not fancy going there as it will involve a late night journey back.Well, i can seewhy my new found friend decided to live in alicante. I asked him about benidorm, he said it was good but too many british. Alicante he said is spanish.I can see the attraction there, and if i were to speak spanish, i think iwould prefer alicante too. After all, it seems silly to live in spain andstick to english people. haha.

a day out to alicante
torrevieja
We got back from a day at alicante. We wanted to go to the sauna there and decided to have lunch at a menu del dia restaurant, and picked one near thecathedral. It costs 9.50euros, free glass of wine or soft drink, and consist of a mixed fish starter for me, and consomme for the other two. John and ishared a paella(very nice with mussel, squid, prawns, chicken and pork, and keith chosed the pork loin. It was very filling, and not something i would recommend usually just before going to a sauna and have sex. But this area is full of such good value meals that it is hard to resist. However, i daresay if i live here, i wont go to these menu del dia so often. We are on holiday so it is ok. No wonder so many of the expatriates british couples we see are so overweight. All that good food and wine. How they can give free bottles of wine with each meal is quite beyond me. Either wine is so cheap that they can do it or UK restauranteurs are making a huge profit from their wine sales. Then we strolled around town till 4pm. The town was v quiet, because of the spanish custom of afternoon siesta. They work only from about 10am to 2pm. Then have a long rest and start again from 5pm to about 9pm. This works well for summer when the heat makes it impossible to work in the afternoons, but it is not logical in winter. Still, once the system is in place it is v difficult to make people change. The campaign for changing to british double summer time is one eg of how difficult it is to changing the system.
If I were working, I prefer the english system of 9am to 5pm, because then the rest of the time ismine to enjoy. That is the difference in mindset between the european mind and the britishmind. I prefer the british mindset, so i prefer to live in UK. It is nice to holiday here, because the meals are cheap. Nowhere in UK can we have a 3course meal for less than 10pounds sterling and it includes free bottles of wine.
The sauna was huge, with wet and dry areas and dark rooms. Action in all the rooms. Not as many people as on sunday, or so keith tells us, (100s on sunday) but enough for us to go round. haha. It costs 10euros and starts fom 3pm to about11pm. It seems there is only another one in alicante. and that one is smaller. That is one thing i cannot get used to the lack of gay saunas here. In london we have so many. And also in London we have so many gaybars with darkrooms. Here there is only one in benidorm which opens at 8pm. There is one gay bar with dark rooms near Keith´s flat in torrevieja, but it gets busy around midnite or so keith tells us. We have not gone there yet.
On the way to alicante, we passed the salt lakes for which this area is rather famous. We saw flamingos. Not as pink as they normally are seen in pictures. There were hills of white salt dotting the landsscape.
How they can give free bottles of wine with each meal is quite beyond me. day 4 in spain
torrevieja
4th day here and it is still rainy. I am afraid we brought the UK weatherwith us to spain. haha. We went to a restaurant by the sea in torrevieja for dinner last night. it is a belgium restaurant. Can´t say i see any difference, but the cook did an excellent liver in breadcrumbs for my meal. it was a fixed price menu where we order the main meal, and that will include starter and dessert. John and Keit(whose flat we are staying in) ordered the beef stew, for 10.50 euros, and i think i got the better dish.My liver meal was the best liver i ever tasted. it is large and thick, and i marvel at how the cook could cook it so evenly and not overcook the outer portions. I have cooked thick slices of liver before and it is difficult to cook it evenly. So my compliments to the chef. The other´s dish is too overcooked for my liking. The meat was too soft. i like my beef to be chewy. But both of them seem to like it. Later we went to a bar, supposedly gay, being owned by two gay men, (at leastthat was the information given in the gay guide) but it was full of elderlymen and women, that I felt no inclination to go in.earlier in the day, keith took us to the british enclave , a housing estatewhere the british have colonised, and we went to one area full of bars, cateringto the british clients. It was a little britain in spain. People may scoff at them for sticking to their own kind but i can understandit. I too feel the awfulness of not knowing spanish, and being a foreigner. It feels so good to hear and understand people speaking english.

torrevieja
I am now in this place in spain. the flight via ryanair was very smooth and more than punctual, we were early flying off, and early arriving. The weather was brilliant when we arrived in murcia airport.Unfortunately we brought the uk´s bad weather with us, for it is raining today. It is still warm, about 26C, but not v pleasant because of the rain.We were in the naked beach this afternoon, and it rained very hard. Luckily we were able to shelter under the pine trees, and had some sexual fun withothers who were cruising there. Not many people, but all we need are one ortwo to make it worthwhile. the whole area is full of new build high rise flats, and I can see why somepeople thinks there will be a housing crash in spain. This area is v popularwith british people. The plane was full of them. And we were sitting next to a lady who had lived in her villa in a village inland for 6yrs. She prefersit to torrevieja saying it is near a village and it is spanish rather than british along the coast. We went to a farmers market this morning, and it was full of british people.I can understand why the british like to mix with their own kind, becauseof the language difficulties. We dont have broadband, and have to use dial up. Though i m writing all this offline as we can sometimes steal a wifi connection. it comes on rather unpredictably so it is pot luck whether i can post this or not. i have not bbeen able to for two days now. The connection comes and goes as the owner turns it on or off. I dont mind, as I will continue to write off line, and post it when i can.We are rather miffed that the weather has gone rainy on us while we are here, but then the plants will enjoy it, and boy can they do with some rain. it is very dry and parched. So far we had not much contact with locals. We dont know where they hang outWe shall go to the sauna in benidorm, and that will be a sure way of meeting locals. I hear a lot of the menu del dia, which sounds like v good value, 3 sometimes 4course meal for a set price about 8euros.
oh, got a connection now so shall post it.

people
london
We were waiting for the plane in ibiza airport and a man was talking to two of his woman friends. He said easy jet is charging them £200 each for another flight because they missed their flight. Hmm, so that is how easyjet is making money. it entices the sweet innocents with low fares, and when they arrive it knows they will spend money because they are on holiday and if they miss the flight it has got them by the goolies. haha.
The coffee shops also do the same thing. John wanted some tea, because he is still in the british mode, not realising that to order tea in europe is a big mistake. They will overcharge u for the tea bag, and it wont be strong tea either. This coffee shop was just by the foot of the entrance to the fort, in ibiza town, and they charged him 2.50 euros and 2Euros for an extra pot of hot water, and the tea is earl grey twinnings tea bag, and was so weak it was frightening, and they serve it with milk!!!
The tourists are careless with their purchases. We were resting in a garden inside the fort, next to an expensive hotel, and i saw a shopping bag from a clothes designer (I forgot who it was but is spelt like 'peche'), which someone had left on the bench. I took a peek inside, and there were two t shirts, postcards and a receipt showing how much the two tshirts costs. One was 39euros, the other 29euros. I could not believe anyone would pay that much money for them. I mean we did not even want it, even when it was left out on the bench. i replaced it on the bench.
John was still reading the ibiza map that he found inside that bag, when I saw a man come from the hotel with his wife, and he went straight to the bag and took it. I made a comment in english 'ah so it is u left it on the bench.' and john turned round and gave him back his map. He was german and did not understand a word, but realised we had seen it and not took it. He made thanking noises, and insisted on taking our photo, placing the designer shopping bag in the foreground.
Some people got more money than sense. But then, if they can afford it, why not? it makes money go round and help the shop owner make a profit and give work to his shop assistants. So everyone got something out of it.
There were some really fantastically nice male bodies on show in the streets of ibiza. When they are tanned they look great and the muscular definition and shape is very nice to look at. The men are the ones who go topless, stripped to the waist with low slung trousers that reach the knee and showing the underwear. The women kept clothed. I had thought ibiza is a gay place, and seeing all these men showing off their bodies it is easy to think they are all gay. Would straight men have such nice bodies, and show it off like that? It is something I would associate with gay men. I am prejudiced, in that if i see a man with a nice body and showing it off, i automatically think he is gay. But I daresay those guys showing off their physique are straight or bi.
Whatever the sexual orientation, it is very nice to see a well defined muscular body on show. Of course, it is better to be able to feel and lick and suck it. Seeing all those nice bods, just make me more inspired to go to the gym and work out. It would be nice to have bodies like that too.
And it is quite easy to get the muscles. In fact, the danger is not so much getting big with muscles but getting it too disproportionate or distorted with muscles unevenly distributed over the body. When the proportion and body muscle/fat is just right, it is truly beautiful to see. And if the man carries himself and moves well, it can be very erotic.

more thoughts about the ibiza holiday
london
I am still feeling the ground move. It makes me feel as if i am drunk. this is the effect of being on the boat for 10days. i came back to london at 4am this morning, to rain and cold, and i love it. There is no doubt the english weather, especially the london one, is the best in the world. All that fierce sunshine in ibiza is all very well for a holiday, where it is important that it be warm and dry, but i know it is no fun having it day in and day out if u live there. I spent all my time under an umbrella when i am outdoors. Imagine a naked guy walking along the beach carrying an umbrella printed all over with flowers. I dont care how it looked, and i daresay I would smile if i see another person doing it. So i dont mind if all those people i pass grin and look amused. I take it as acknowledgement of my good sense to stay out of the sun. In fact, I got a lovely tan, very even and the skin looks great, unlike the others, who are blotchy, and dry and freckled with light and dark areas. I did not wear any sunglasses so did not have that peculiar reverse panda look, white all round the eyes, surrounded by a tanned face.
I looked so tanned, the security guard at the local sainsbury came up behind me and greeted me and when i turned round he apologised saying he thought i was a fellow nepalese. he was a gurkha, who worked for 13yrs as a security guard in one of the palaces of the sultan of brunei. He came to the uk 4 months ago. When i heard he was a ex gurkha, I realised how he managed to get into the uk to work. The gurkhas have a good reputation as excellent soldiers. He looked in his 40s, but i daresay he is older than that and still good looking.
I thought at first he was trying to pick me up. i wonder if he is doing that!!!
Ah well, I could do with more of that on our holiday. The only time i got to sample the local guys was when we went for a short visit of a few hours to es cavalet gay beach. It has a very well appointed pine forest which provide shade and hidden groves for sex. I would have liked to go there more than once, but james is not really gay, or so he tells us, so he was not into meeting gay guys and so he did not find it interesting enough to go for another visit.
There was plenty of sex amongst john and keith and me. We thought james might be interested but I think he was not attracted to us. He likes guys with big cocks because during the party after the naked bike ride he was very excited at phil, who had a big cock.
James may have thought just by being the straight guy will make him a source of attraction for us, the stereotype of gays being attracted to seducing a straight guy is strong, but we three are not into straight guys who just want to be pleasured without reciprocating, or who are not sexually excited by guys. so james was left out.It did not help that he was hopeless at giving oral and cannot get a hard on. I dont think he minds that much, as he was not attracted to us, and so he can just enjoy our company and our sharing the cost of the trip.Though i wonder whether he might still feel a bit frustrated when he sees us at it like rabbits all over the boat.
(I remember a memorable windless night under the stars, when keith and i had a great fuck on deck, at about midnight and where i had a fantastic prostatic orgasm. We acted out a nice fantasy of fucking under the stars on the deck of a yacht).
I was glad keith was there,(apart from the fact he is a great top) as he helped out with the boat, all that palaver with ropes and stuff. I find that boring, and if it were only me and john on board we will have to do it. As it was, keith did it instead.
The main thing i miss is the lack of other company. There were other people on boats, but no one talked to each other, or make contact and it was rather isolating. My fantasy was that we yacht hop in each others bed. but that is too much to expect in real life. and we were confined alot of the time on the boat, as james was the only one who knows how to drive the small dinghy with its outboard motor, and the boat was moored too far from shore to swim to it.
Now I have been on sail, I can add it to my store of previous yacht trips and can safely say it is not for me.John mentioned one very enjoyable aspect, when we were up on deck me with a cup of tea, he with a glass of wine, sitting on the cushioned seats and seeing the blue calm sea all around us, the bright sun, the blue sky and the gently rocking motion gives us a glimpse of the leisurely life on board and hinting at the atmosphere of priviledge which we associate with a life on board a yacht. But it is an illusion. John and i enjoy the sense of peace and calm watching the restless sea, and swaying with the boat, and seeing the vast sky above us, and the endless horizon. We enjoy it because it was a novelty for us. But what do the rich see? I see these rich people with their gin palaces which we call their 3 storey motor cruisers and i dont envy them at all. I know i would be bored stiff if i have to go boating for a long time.
And judgeing from the many gin palaces moored in the marina, all empty and appear to be moored permanently and were never taken out for a spin, i can see the rich people who bought the motor cruisers and thought it will be a fantastic high life may have discovered it too.
Perhaps the really rich do live a high society life, moored in cannes, or the french riviera, and having fun parties on board, but for these middle range of rich folks i dont think they live it up as much. The costs of maintaining a yacht are so big, because they moor them in marinas, it may make even these middle-range rich blanch.
It is perfectly possible to sail without any costs. You are free to moor anywhere in a sheltered bay, and wind power is free. Some of the yachts we see have a wind turbine. James says it is not powerful enough, but I think if it can power the lights and bring the water temperature to room temperature that is all that is needed. As for fresh water, that has to be bought, but i think you can save on water if u shower in sea water, by drawing it up with a pump, and then use the final wash to remove the salt with fresh water. It would all be ecologically friendly using the resources available to everyone, instead of burning diesel by operating the engine all the time. But i dont see many of these sailing people doing it. The type who do it are solitary men, it seems. they live on board, they quietly come into the sheltered bay and quietly leave, and bathe in the sea and soap in the back of the boat, and they pee overboard. haha.Their boat are always very silent, and dark, and they seldom talk with others. They are always very dark skinned, burnt by the sun, and are very lean, and bearded with long hair. The original hippy who is reputed to have discovered ibiza years ago, and made it for a time a hippy heaven.

back from my holiday to ibiza.
london
first time I have been able to get online since my 10days holiday. I have missed blogging and writing. Lots have happened but i was unable to get online, we were sailing and living off the yacht and there was no internet access. It is one of the things i missed when on that holiday.
What to say on the first post after the holiday? I think the expected thing is to say how great it was, and we had the time of our lives, but it would be too extravagant. we enjoyed it, but since i am not a boat person, nor a sea person, preferring the land, I have more enjoyable holidays. It was a pleasant experience as a one off.
Just some random observations that stick in my mind, and which i can remember after so long away.
My liquid bottles was slightly over 100ml limit, being 118ml, and so i was asked to check my luggage. I asked at the desk if there is a charge, and was told it will be £10.
I had some food in my bag, it was the starter of humus and bread that we had in the turkish restaurant that my accountant treated me to, so i told the checkin attendant that i shall eat that before i return to check in the bag. i could do that because i went to the airport so early.
when i returned to check in the bag, i went to a different counter, and there my bag was taken and there was no mention of a charge so i too kept quiet. That was rather nice of the attendant not to charge me.
Anyway it was a good thing in more ways than one, because i was able to take with me the coconut oil, as well as extra suntan lotion . We used up the jar of coconut oil during this holiday; between john and I, because john is a great advocate of coconut oil to nourish the skin. It is so good, i am glad i bought so much of it. John wanted one jar, and i promised to give it to him, when we next see each other.
Keith who lives in Torrevieja near alicante, joined us later that day. He had travelled by ferry from the mainland, costing £120 return, which I thought was expensive, considering our flight return by easyjet is £175.We arrived at about 12midnite, and took a taxi to Santa Eulalia, a sea port on the other side of Ibiza town frm the airport. (Later, on our return journey to the airport john and i took the bus from ibiza town, and it costs only 1.50 euros each.
The yacht is a lovely spacious oyster 57, with a high celinged central lounge (or whatever they call it) so there was no need to stoop. There was a large cabin at the rear, where James the captain slept, and where the loo is where we can crap, because it empties into a holding tank, whilst the forward bow holds two cabins, with room for 2 each. and the loo there is for peeing only, while we were moored. It empties directly into the ocean. And a pump is used to shoot out our pee, and to draw up sea water to rinse the bowl.
We saw often times guys peeing straight into the ocean from the back of their yacht. i find it rather extraordinary to do it in plain view of everyone, haha. and this is me who goes around naked all the time, but somehow it seems rather more intimate taking out your cock and peeing over the side of the boat. they were fully clothed too. Once, I thought i shall do it too, but could not bring myself to do it and went below to do it in the loo.
The holding tank is emptied when we go out on the open seas which we did when we sailed to formentera. The mooring charges in the marina at S. Eulalia increased overnight, from £120 a day to £200 james told us when he went to pay it so lucky we left on that day the charges went up. It was the start of the peak period. The charges include full use of the common showers and loo and also filling up of the boat's water tanks. I think James still have to pay the diesel cost.
From all this, I can see owning a yacht does not end with the money u pay to buy the yacht. The running charges must be very high. But then, anyone who owns a yacht wont be exactly poor. haha.
there is also the discipline on board when using the facillities. Everything has to be stored away, and we have to sit when we pee, so as not to splash everywhere with the boat pitching and yawing. And also to remember to pump the pee out 15 times at least, and refill the bowl with fresh sea water. For guys like us who are too lazy on land to even replace the toilet cover, this is discipline indeed.
We were all very housetrained, so there was no problem there.
Since we were all naked on board, there was no problem with privacy. we seldom close the door of the loo when we pee, and carry on the conversation while sitting on the loo, through the open door. And people come and go into the loo, when one of us is peeing. That is the good thing about being naked.
We moored in Es palmador, an island which can be walked to from the main part of formentera through a shallow strait. There was a mud salt lake, which is said to be good for the skin, so we tried it, smearing ourselves with the smelly mud and letting it dry and then washing it off in the sea. John and i did not like it, because the mud was difficult to wash off, and the smell lingered on even after washing. It smelt of decaying vegetation.
There were not many people on the boats who were naked. I had thought formentera is famous for its naked beaches and james said last time he was there, most of the people on the yachts were naked. but not this time.
In fact, we visited other beaches and saw few naked people. I think it is the start of the peak season, and so many tourists come to the beaches, they outnumber those who are naked, and also make other nudists avoid the area.
We went naked because we like to, haha. and we dont care what others do.
