in poole

poole

typical of the english weather, now i m here, it rained. haha. And the weather report says london is hot and dry!!!

so we had to postpone going to studland bay.

Instead i had a browse in the charity shops in ashley road, but did not buy anything. I am spoilt by getting things free in my recycling bins in london. I saw a step ladder that also doubles as a stool, selling in the charity shop but i found one like that in the recycling bins a long time ago.

There are no recycling bins here in poole, which is rather strange. maybe they all donate things to the charity shops and so there is no need to have recycling bins.

We went to the aldi and sainsburys and i was surprised that we spend £11 in aldi, and £9 in sainsburys. I seldom spend that much when i go shopping. What did we buy? 2 white wine bottles that was £8. and in sainsburys, a roast chicken for £4. canned goods make up the rest and fruit drinks. I have not bought fruit juices nor soda water for a long time.

I can see why it costs so much, john's selection includes quite alot of processed things. I dont buy canned stuff, nor wine, nor cooked meats, preferring to buy a raw chicken to cook and making my meals from fresh ingredients.

Just as well not many people are like me, or the supermarkets will all go bankrupt.haha.

Anyway I figure if people buy all these stuffs, it does no harm for them to spend so much if they can afford it. I dont do this because it is only a personal quirk of mine to want to get value for money, and not because i cannot afford it. I dont wish to proselytise my way of life, haha.

I have noticed john do not shop late and try to get reduced bargains. Perhaps he does not want to go to all that bother. After all, some might say life is too short to go to all this trouble. And in some ways they may be right, and it is better if one does these things only if it gives enjoyment, which it does to me.
